TVXQ

TVXQ (often stylized TVXQ!^[1] or TVfXQ^[2]), an acronym for Tong Vfang Xien Qi^[3] (東方神起), is a South Korean boy band quintet formed under SM Entertainment in 2003. In South Korea they are known as Dong Bang Shin Gi^[4][5] (동방신기); they were later introduced in Japan as Tohoshinki (東方神起, Tōhōshinki^?) under the Avex sub-label Rhythm Zone in 2005. Their name translates as "The Rising Gods of the East".^[6][7]

"O"-正.反.合. is TVXQ's third Korean studio album, released on September 29, 2006. In a year when Korean music sales had slumped, it was the highest selling album in South Korea in 2006 which won the group several prominent awards in South Korea ^[1][2]. It continues to chart and manages to stay in the top 50 each month. The album's name "O" - Jung. Ban. Hap is also the name of the lead single, which translates to "O" - Thesis. Antithesis. Synthesis or "O" - Justice. Opposition. Solution in English (some English articles also refer to it as "O" Union), in regard to global conflicts and a strong need for peace and resistance. The album has a balance of fast tempo songs and ballads.

A cappella

A cappella (Italian^[1] for From the chapel/choir) music is vocal music or singing without instrumental accompaniment, or a piece intended to be performed in this way. A cappella was originally intended to differentiate between Renaissance polyphony and Baroque concertato style. In the 19th century a renewed interest in Renaissance polyphony coupled with an ignorance of the fact that vocal parts were often doubled by instrumentalists led to the term coming to mean unaccompanied vocal music.^[2] In modern usage, a cappella often refers to an all-vocal performance of any style, including barbershop, doo wop, and modern pop/rock. Today, a cappella also includes sample/loop "vocal only" productions by producers like Jimmy Spice Curry, Teddy Riley, Wyclef, and others.

Ahyoomee

Ahyoomee or Ayumi Lee (Korean: 이 아유미, Japanese: 伊藤あゆみ, born Ayumi Itō (伊藤亜由美, Itō Ayumi^?) August 25, 1984,^[1]), from former Korean girl-group Sugar, was raised in Japan for much of her younger life and is the reason for her Japanese accent, although she is now fluent in both languages. Although Ayumi's name is commonly believed to be Japanese in origin, she has explained that her name is hanja-based ^[2]. She has also attended Korea Kent Foreign School^[3].

Anycall (Hangul: 애니콜) is a South Korean mobile phone brand established by Samsung Electronics in 1993. Like other mobile phone brands in South Korea, they provide technology such as cameras, internet access, and digital TV through Digital Multimedia Broadcasting.

Ashes of Time is a 1994 Hong Kong wuxia film written and directed by Wong Kar-wai, and based very loosely on four characters from the Louis Cha novel The Legend of the Condor Heroes.

Bangkok

Bangkok is the capital, largest urban area and primary city of Thailand. Known in Thai as Krung Thep Mahanakhon (Thai: กรุงเทพมหานคร, pronounced [krūŋtʰêːp máhǎːnákʰɔːn] ( listen)), or กรุงเทพฯ Krung Thep ( (listen) (help·info)) for short, it was a small trading post at the mouth of the Chao Phraya River during the Ayutthaya Kingdom. Beautiful You / Sennen Koi Uta

Beautiful You/Sennen Koi Uta (千年恋歌, lit. One Thousand Year Love Song^?) is Tohoshinki's 22nd Japanese single, released on April 23, 2008 shortly before the completion of the T album Japan tour. Sennen Koi Uta was used as the opening theme for "The Legend (太王四神記)", a Korean drama that was later aired in Japan. Oricon News predicted that the consecutive releases of the previous single albums as well as the popularity of the historical drama series were expected to boost the sales of the latest single. ^[1]

Black Beat

Black Beat (블랙 비트) was South Korean boy band. Black Beat belonged to SM Entertainment. A few of their members have appeared elsewhere. But for the most part their public appearances (and subsequent popularity) have been limited. This can be attributed to a number of things: the waning popularity of poppy rap and the decreasing amount of SM Entertainment's PR power (which since 2004 has focused on a few core groups and singers). Their last appearance was the 2006 Winter SMTown. Their disbandment was confirmed in 2007 when lead vocalist, Jang Jin Young teamed up with Kim Sung Pil to form the R&B duo, ByJinSung.

BoA

Boa Kwon (Korean: 권보아, Kwon Boa, born November 5, 1986^[1]), commonly stylized and known by her stage name BoA, which is a backronym for Beat of Angel,^[2] and later Best of Asia and Bring on America^[3] is a Korean singer, active in South Korea, Japan, and the United States. Born and raised in Gyeonggi-do, South Korea, BoA was discovered by SM Entertainment talent agents when she accompanied her older brother to a talent search. In 2000, after two years of training, she released ID; Peace B, her debut Korean album, under SM Entertainment. Two years later, she released her debut Japanese album, Listen to My Heart, under the Avex label. On October 14, 2008, under SM Entertainment USA, a subdivision of SM Entertainment, BoA debuted in the United States with the single "Eat You Up" and released her debut English-language album, BoA on March 17, 2009.

Bolero/Kiss the Baby Sky/Wasurenaide

"Bolero / Kiss the Baby Sky / Wasurenaide" (Bolero / Kiss the Baby Sky / 忘れないで, Borero/ Kisu Za Beibī Sukai/ Wasurenaide^?, lit. Bolero / Kiss the Baby Sky / Don't Forget) is Tohoshinki's 25th Japanese single, released on January 21, 2009. Bolero was the theme song for the Japanese movie, "Subaru (昴)". The movie is named after the ballerina lead named Subaru, which released on March 20th, 2009. Tohoshinki made their debut screen on Subaru. The members of Tohoshinki appeared in one scene in which Meisa Kuroki’s character visited a bar; where they performed on a stage during the scene.^[1][2]

Boy band

In pop or R&B music, a boy band is a group of several young male singers. The members are generally expected to perform as dancers as well, often executing highly choreographed sequences to their own music. More often than not, boy band members do not play musical instruments, either in recording sessions or on stage, and only sing and dance. As a result, the term "band" is really a misnomer for this genre. Although there are no distinct traits defining a boy band, one could label a band a "boy band" for following mainstream music trends, changing their appearances to adapt to new fashion trends, having elaborate dance moves, and performing elaborate shows. Close to You / Crazy Life (Yunho from 東方神起) is Tohoshinki's 20th Japanese single, released on March 5, 2008. The single is the fourth installment of the song "Trick" in the album T.

Contemporary R&B

Contemporary R&B (also known as R&B) is a music genre of western popular music. Although the acronym “R&B” originates from its association with traditional rhythm and blues music, the term R&B is today most often used to define a style of African American music originating after the demise of disco in the 1980s. This newer style combines elements of soul, funk, dance, and, from 1986 on with the advent of New Jack Swing branded R&B, hip hop.

Dōshite Kimi o Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō?

Dōshite Kimi wo Suki ni Natte Shimattandarō? (どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう？, lit. Why did I have to end up falling completely in love with you?^?), released on July 16, 2008, is Tōhōshinki's 23rd Japanese single. Approximately two months prior to the official release of the song, a leak of the recording grossed many hits on the internet.

Daum (Korean: 다음; KRX: 035720) is a popular web portal in South Korea, with Naver and Nate. Daum offers many Internet services to web users, including a popular free web-based e-mail, messaging service, forums, shopping and news.

Duty-free shop

Duty-free shops (or stores) are retail outlets that do not apply local or national taxes and duties. Duty-free shopping is a bit of misnomer though because shoppers may still have to pay duties in their home country on items purchased from a duty-free shop. They are often found in the international zone of international airports, sea ports or on board passenger ships. They are not as commonly available for road or train travelers, although several border crossings between the United States and Canada have duty-free shops for car travelers.

F(x) (band)

f(x) (Korean: 에프엑스; pronounced /ɛfːˈɛks/) is a girl group from Seoul, South Korea created by SM Entertainment in 2009. A multi-national group, the quintet consists of Korean members Sulli, Luna, Korean-American member Krystal; Taiwanese American member Amber and Chinese member Victoria, who is also the leader.^[1]
