The Salt Lake Golden Eagles were a minor league hockey team based in Salt Lake City, Utah from 1969 to 1994.
The Akron Americans was a minor league professional ice hockey team from Akron, Ohio, that played in the International Hockey League's south division during the 1948–49 season. The Americans were the first fully professional ice hockey team from Akron. The team replaced the semi-professional Akron Stars who played in the Ohio State Hockey League from 1946 to 1948.
The Albany Choppers was an independent professional ice hockey team competing in the International Hockey League during the 1990–1991 season. The franchise originally existed as the Fort Wayne Komets, whose owner, David Welker, opted to move his franchise to Albany, New York and its brand-new Knickerbocker Arena, a major league-caliber facility, during the IHL's period of nationwide expansion. It had the regional Price Chopper supermarket chain as a major investor -- hence the name and colors of red, white and blue in Price Chopper's corporate hues.
The Atlanta Knights were a minor league professional ice hockey team in the International Hockey League from 1992 to 1996. The Knights were based in Atlanta, Georgia, and played at the Omni Coliseum. The team became the Quebec Rafales from 1996 to 1998.The Central Hockey League was a minor professional ice hockey league that operated in the United States from 1963 to 1984. Initially named the Central Professional Hockey League, it was owned and operated by the National Hockey League and served as a successor to the Eastern Professional Hockey League, which had folded after the 1962–63 season. The CHL's initial franchises were, in fact, relocations of the previous year's EPHL teams. Its founding president was Jack Adams, who served in the role until his death in 1968. The CHL's championship trophy was called the Adams Cup in his honor.
