The Philippine Daily Inquirer, popularly known as the Inquirer, is the most widely read broadsheet newspaper in the Philippines, with a daily circulation of 260,000 copies. It is one of the Philippines' newspapers of record. It is a member of the Asia News Network.
Abante is a daily Filipino tabloid publication in the Philippines. Its office is in Manila. Its editor-in-chief is Allen A. Macasaet. During the State of Emergency in 2006, operatives from the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group tried to raid Abante's office but withdrew when they saw that there are television crew in the area.[1]
The Asia News Network (ANN) is a network of Asian daily newspapers that share editorial content with each other, including news stories, feature articles, editorials and personality profiles. ANN was formed in 1999 in Manila at the Asian-German Editors Forum organized by the Konrad Adenauer Foundation and since then subsidised.
Bannawag (Iloko word meaning "dawn") is a Philippine weekly magazine published in the Philippines by Liwayway Publications Inc. It contains serialized novels/comics, short stories, poetry, essays, news features, entertainment news and articles, among others, that are written in Ilokano, a language common in the northern regions of the Philippines.Bisaya Magasin is a weekly Cebuano magazine now published by the Manila Bulletin Publishing Corporation, Philippines. It has the record of being the oldest magazine in Cebuano which is still published now, and "the most successful periodical in Cebuano" (CCP, p. 542).
Broadsheet is the largest of the various newspaper formats and is characterized by long vertical pages (typically 22 inches or more). The term derives from types of popular prints usually just of a single sheet, sold on the streets and containing various types of matter, from ballads to political satire. The first broadsheet newspaper was the Dutch Courante uyt Italien, Duytslandt, &c. published in 1618.María Corazón "Cory" Sumúlong Cojuangco Aquino (January 25, 1933 – August 1, 2009) was the 11th President of the Philippines and the first woman to hold such office. He was suspended from his priestly ministry upon announcing his intention to run as governor. He is the second priest to be elected to public office in the Philippines, the first being Margarito Gonzaga, who was elected mayor of Alburquerque, Bohol in 1971. [2]
