Orava is the traditional name of a region situated in northern Slovakia (as Orava) and partially also in southern Poland (as Orawa). It encompasses the territory of the former (comitatus) Árva county.

Námestovo District (okres Námestovo) is a district in the Žilina Region of central Slovakia. Until 1918, the district was part of the Hungarian county of Orava.
