The name of the town in Estonian and Russian means "mouth of the Narva River".
Billund Kommune is a municipality (Danish, kommune) in Region Syddanmark in the center of the Jutland Peninsula of Denmark. Formerly the municipality belonged to Ribe County. The new, merged municipality covers an area of 155 km², and has a total population of 8,697 (2005). Its mayor is Preben Jensen, a member of the Venstre (Liberal Party) political party.[1] The site of its municipal council is the town of Grindsted, which is the largest town in the municipality followed by the city of Billund.
