The Austrian Hockey League (German: Österreichische Eishockey-Liga), called the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga for sponsorship reasons, is the highest-level ice hockey league in Austria. The league was founded in 1923, and has recently added teams in Slovenia, Croatia and Hungary, they however can only win the "EBEL Champion" title not the "Austrian Champion" title[citation needed]. The league has had different sponsors, and the current naming rights have been held by "Sparkasse Bank" and its Erste Bank brand since the 2003-04 season.


Alba Volán Székesfehérvár is a Hungarian ice hockey team that currently plays in the OB I bajnokság and in the Austrian Erste Bank Hockey League. They play their home games at Ifjabb Ocskay Gábor Ice Hall in Székesfehérvár.

Albert Schultz Eishalle is an indoor sporting arena located in Vienna, Austria. The capacity of the arena, which was opened in January 1995, is 4,500 people. It is currently home to the Vienna Capitals ice hockey team.

The Alpenliga was an international professional ice hockey league which existed between 1991 and 1999. In its past it has switched several times between being and not being an open league (in reference to allowing foreign teams), but for the 2008-2009 season, the Belarus Ice Hockey Federation has decided to open the Extraleague, the Belarusian Vysshaya Liga, and the Belarusian junior leagues.The Bosnia & Herzegovina Hockey League is the top league for Ice Hockey in Bosnia and Herzegovina. All the hockey teams in BiH are in the country's biggest city, Sarajevo. No other city has the necessary infrastructure to have a serious hockey team.
